What is 2D Animation?

Animation is an effect which is possible due to the biological phenomenon known as persistence of vision. 2D Animation is the technique in which each frame of a film or a movie is created individually. To achieve the motion you need to display a series of successive images at a rate of at least 10 fps (frames per second).

Digital 2d animation is a primary component of multimedia presentations.

Process Involved in 2D-Animation Designing

The first films to be produced basically consisted of an animated face drawn onto a blackboard. What animators do, they simply rubbed out parts of the drawing and then redrew them in a slightly different way. When it is recorded onto film and then display, it will give an illusion of movement. Although there are lot of technological advances in the technique but the basic process remains the same to this day. This is the simplicity due to which any budding animator finds it as an ideal starting point for two-dimensional animation.

Two-dimensional production consists of following stages:

• Pre-production

Storyline / Screenplay

Character Design
